SANAY AGAP IGLAP
The Sanay Agap Iglap is a 3-day training program aimed at enhancing community readiness and resilience during disasters. It involves physical activities, presentations, role plays, and practical exercises. Participants include NSRC reservists, NSTP students, UP Diliman staff, and members of the UP Campus community. Day 1 focused on alertness, map reading, hazard awareness, and ocular inspections. Day 2 included a tango rescue exercise, disaster preparedness discussions, and basic first-aid training. Day 3 involved a simultaneous drill in Barangay UP Campus, Quezon City, followed by an assessment. Overall, the program aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively to disasters. This project was organized by the NSTP Diliman Office, National Service Reserve Corps UPD, UP Resilience Institute, UP Diliman Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, UP Diliman Public Safety and Security Office, and Barangay U.P. Campus-Quezon City.

The National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) is launching UNLAD 2022 โKawayan: Tatag at Tibay Pampamayananโ, a webinar series on Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, to carry on with this initiative. Building on the principles laid out in our UNLAD 2020-2021 Community Engagement Webinar Series, this yearโs series seeks to:
- Discuss the concepts and processes of people-centered development in the creation of CBDRRM programs, projects, and activities with partner communities;
- Apply the learnings on people-centered development in co-designing a project with community members; and
- Connect participants to the growing network of community-based DRRM practitioners.
